Shepshed Tip Saved

Campaign Update: following our campaign and residents' responses to the consultation, Leicestershire County Council has announced that Shepshed Tip will remain open.

---

I am very concerned about Leicestershire County Council’s proposals to close Shepshed’s Recycling and Household Waste Centre.

Given that it is a thriving and expanding town, Shepshed and the surrounding area need to be supported by adequate local services, which include a readily available recycling centre. It would not be fair for Shepshed to have its existing service removed.

I know that this is a concern many local residents share and so I have already made my position very clear to Leicestershire County Council and will continue to do so. However, if we are to be successful in our campaign to retain this service, we need more people to provide their feedback. I would, therefore, encourage you to share your views with the Council here. If you need any assistance with this, please do let me know.

I have also created a poster to help raise awareness of the potential closure and would encourage residents to share it on social media or print it off and display it in their window so that we can spread the message. If you would like to do so, the poster can be downloaded by clicking on the button below.
